Description

Stanier 5MT Class No. 44867 (built 1945, with 5D Stoke shedplate) pilots Bulleid West Country Class No. 34029 Lundy (built 1946) on the 12.20 pm Bournmouth West-Nottingham service approaching the road bridge about half a mile south of Masbury station in August 1962. Through services last ran on the S&D on 8 September 1962. The train has 10 carriages.

44917 is shown as allocated to Stoke (5D) from July/August 1961 until November 1962. 34029 is shown as allocated to Bournemouth from June 1959 until withdrawal in September 1964.
