Description

A superbly-detailed view of Fowler 2P Class No. 40634 (built 1928, with 82G Templecombe shedplate) piloting Fowler 4F Class No. 44417 (built 1927) on a Cleethorpes-Exmouth service for which the reporting code of 1O92 is being shown. They’re just coming up to the Maple Grove bridge with Devonshire Tunnel a little way further on. 2 September 1961.

40634 is shown as already allocated to Templecombe upon nationalisation in 1948 and remaining there until withdrawal in May 1962. 44417 is shown as already allocated to Templecombe at nationalisation in 1948 and remaining there until withdrawn in November 1962.
