Description

Standard Class 4 No. 75027 pilots West Country Class No. 34039 Boscastle through Cole on a Down through service from Liverpool and Manchester of 12 carriages.

75027 was alloacted to Templecombe from February 1960 until November 1962. 34039 was allocated to Bournemouth from early 1959 until September 1962. It’s likely therefore that this photo was taken in summer 1960/61/62. This combination of locomotives on this service was noted twice in summer 1961, for example.
