Description

Fowler 4F Class No. 44559 (built 1922, with 82F Bath Green Park shedplate) has left Wellow station with a Bath-bound passenger service of three carriages. The carriages are in set 963 – disbanded in 1963. The train is passing over Wellow viaduct – the bridge number (22) can be seen.

The locomotive was built as S&D No. 59 before being renumbered as LMS No. 4559 and BR No. 44559.

44559 is shown as already allocated to Bath Green Park at nationalisation in 1948 and remaining there right through until withdrawal in early 1963.
