Description

BR Standard Class 4 No. 76027 (built 1953) has just passed the Up Home signal at Shillingstone with a 4-carriage passenger service.

76027 is shown as being allocated to Bournemouth from February/March 1962 until withdrawal in September/October 1965 – but is showing no shedplate in this image.

The coaching stock comprises 3-car set no. 967 (built 1946, withdrawn 1963), plus an additional vehicle. From this, it appears that the photo was probably taken in 1962/3.
