Description

BR Standard Class 5 No. 73047 (built 1953) takes an Up Pines Express into Shillingstone past the Up Home signal. The points in the foreground are those for the Down Siding East which was taken out of use in 1965.

No date is given for this image though through services were diverted away from the S&D in September 1962.

Allocation reports vary for 73047 but Longworth records the loco as being allocated to Bath Green Park from 1955 until July 1964 and withdrawn later in 1964.
