Description

BR Standard Class 5 No. 73047 (built 1953, with 71G Bath Green Park shedplate) takes an Up Pines Express into Shillingstone past the Up Home signal. The points in the foreground are those for the Down Siding East which was taken out of use in 1965.

No date is given for this image but the photographer started taking pictures of the S&D in 1956 and 73047 was recoded to 82F in February 1958.

Allocation reports vary for 73047 but Longworth records the loco as being allocated to Bath Green Park from 1955 until July 1964 and withdrawn later in 1964.
