Description

S&D 7F No. 53808 (built 1925 as S&D No. 88, with 82F Bath Green Park shedplate) is seen at Shillingstone with the Locomotive Club of Great Britain’s Somerset & Dorset Rail Tour on 30 September 1962. For more information on the tour see the listing at Six Bells Junction.

This should not be confused with another tour of the same name which took place on 5 March 1966, the last weekend of the S&D.

53808 was rescued from the scrapyard by the Trust in 1970 and returned to steam in 1987. More information here.
