Description

Stanier 5MT Class No. 44917 (built 1945) is seen straddling the barrow crossing at Shillingstone station while at the head of an Up passenger service.

44917 is shown as allocated to Bath Green Park from early 1952 until mid-1958. Given that the photographer started taking images of the S&D in 1956, this indicates a date range for the photo.
