Ex-SR U-class 2-6-0 locomotive No. 31633 (allocated to 70C Guildford shed) on the 6.40pm passenger train to Woking with SR headcode no. 14 (Waterloo & Bournemouth West) leading carriage labelled for set no. 772 (recorded by Southern Railway Email Group as B-set BSK no. 4305, CK no. 5753 & BSK no. 4306). Carriage in siding on left labelled for set no. 529 (recorded as MkI-set BSK no. 34649, CK no. 15571 & BSK no. 34650), Branksome Triangle. Tuesday 17 July 1962.

The train is heading up the now-dismantled east chord of the triangle.

A lower-quadrant ground signal can be seen clearly in the bottom right hand corner of this photo (it is seen Off in WSHSD_2019_4_8).
