Horsington; 43853 on Down goods service, 1963; G A Richardson



MR Fowler 4F No. 43853 (built 1918, with 82F Bath Green Park shedplate) is pictured near Horsington, north of Templecombe, with a Down goods service in gloomy winter weather with melting snow on the ground – this indicates early to mid-March, after the severe winter of 1962-63. Note the co-acting signal arms.

43853 is shown as allocated to Bath Green Park from February 1963 until withdrawal in the following June (this indicates the general date range for the photo).
