Description

BR Standard Class 4 No. 75009 (built 1951, with 82G Templecombe shedplate) and Fowler S&D 7F No. 53810 (built 1925 as S&D No. 90) are seen on a Down (Bournemouth-bound) passenger service emerging from the Chilcompton Tunnels duirng 1962.

75009 is shown as allocated to Templecombe in September/October 1961 until November 1962. 53810 is shown as already allocated to Bath Green Park at the time of nationalisation in 1948 and remaining there until withdrawal in late 1963. As the service pictured is almost certainly a through service, the date of the photo would be some time up to early September 1962 when such services were diverted.
