Ex-MR Johnson/Fowler 2P 4-4-0 locomotive no. 524 (allocated to 22A Bristol Barrow Road, built Derby 1898, withdrawn from 10B Preston in 1954 as BR no. 40524) passing under Plumer’s Bridge (no. 131) with southbound 1.10 pm Bath to Templecombe passenger train (leading carriage labelled for SR set no. 402), on approach to Wincanton, note down distant signal on left, to be sighted from other side of bridge, and members of photographer’s family with car on bridge, Wednesday 6 July 1938.
