Ex-SR rebuilt Bulleid ‘Merchant Navy’ class 4-6-2 locomotive No. 35001 ‘Channel Packet’ (allocated to 70A Nine Elms) on the 7.25pm passenger train to Waterloo
with SR headcode no. 14 (Waterloo & Bournemouth West, train reporting no. 29). Bournemouth West Junction signalbox is in the centre distance. Saturday 29 July 1961.

BR Standard 5MT class 4-6-0 locomotive No. 73087 ‘Linette’ (allocated to 82F Bath Green Park from June to August 1961) is seen on the sidings to the right.

35001’s train is heading up the now-dismantled east chord of the Branksome Triangle.
