Ex-SR rebuilt Bulleid ‘West Country’ class 4-6-2 locomotive No. 34002 ‘Salisbury’ with high-sided tender (allocated to 72A Exmouth Junction) on a passenger train with SR headcode no. 14 (Waterloo & Bournemouth West), near Branksome. Undated, circa 1960.

Based on the pylons in the left background, heathland in the right background and siding in the foreground, the location is the southern end of the viaduct on the now-dismantled chord of the Branksome Triangle with the train making its way from Bournemouth Central to Bournemouth West. The houses in the background are in Gordon Road South.
