Description

Crewe-built Black Five No. 44771 heads West Country Class No. 34041 Wilton on an Up through service of eight carriages near Masbury in 1961. At the time, 44771 was allocated to Rugby and accordingly carries a 2A shedplate. 34041 is shown as being allocated to Bournemouth at the time.

The train appears to be approaching Masbury station; a road bridge and what is probably the Masbury Up distant signal can be seen in the far distance.
