Henstridge station; station building, north-west end, platform side from track, showing door to Parcels & Cloakroom, urinal & store to right. Note telegraph lineman’s board, ‘public telephone’ & train service signs on station building wall & wooden bench. ‘London Midland Electrification – Forging Ahead (Between Liverpool and Crewe)’ poster by John Greene, published 1961, on wall.

[Note: The author of the well-known history of the S&D, The Somerset & Dorset Railway, Robin Atthill, records his removing the lineman’s board in April 1965 for passing to Clapham Transport Museum (on page 115 of the first and some subsequent editions of the book).]
