BR Standard Class 9F No. 92245 (built 1958) pulls into Blandford with the Down Pines Express Manchester-Bournemouth service while GWR Collett 0-6-0PT No. 4691 (built Swindon 1945) stands at the opposite platform with a short Up local service. The allocation of 92245 and the greenery on the trees suggests summer 1962.

92245 is shown as allocated to Bath Green Park from May/June 1962 until the following September/October. 4691 is shown as allocated to Templecombe from January/February 1961 until withdrawal in August/September 1964.

The photo was taken under the footbridge at the northern end of the station.
