June Date for Trust Steam Special

The Somerset & Dorset Railway Trust is again offering a bargain ride to Trust members and non- members behind the Trust’s former Somerset & Dorset Joint Railway 2-8-0 locomotive No. 88.

The ‘Steam Special 2009’ will run on the West Somerset Railway from Bishops Lydeard to Minehead and return on Saturday 20th June.

The train departs from Bishops Lydeard at 11 am . There will be setting down and picking up at Washford for the SDRT Museum and Cleeve Abbey and at Dunster for the Castle and village.There will be a buffet / bar on the train serving hot and cold snacks and an on board raffle with lots of wonderful prizes.

Fares for S&DRT members are: Adult £8.00 , Child £5.00, Family ( 2+2) £20.00.Members will already have received their booking forms.

Fares for non-members are : Adult £10.00, Child £5.00,Family ( 2+2 ) £25.00.

All seats are bookable in advance so there will be no jostling for seats.

Last date for booking is 5th June, tickets will be sent during the week commencing 15th June.

Non - members wishing to book tickets should apply to S&DRT ,Halcyon, West Road, Bridport, Dorset,DT6 6AA, Telephone enquiries  01308 424630.

Applications should indicate:

· No. of Adults at £10.00

· No. of Children at £5.00

· No. of Family tickets at £25.00

· Numbers leaving at Washford

· Numbers leaving at Dunster

Cheques for full amount should be made payable to Somerset and Dorset Railway Trust along with full name and address indicating where tickets should be sent.

The return train will leave Minehead at 5.30pm.
