On Wednesday 19th November 2008 David Antell
brought his low loader to Washford to collect the Admiralty Van donated by the
Somerset and Dorset Railway Trust to The North Dorset Railway Trust,
Shillingstone Station Project as well as one of the original cylinders from our
S&DJR 7F 2-8-0 loco 88. The Cylinders were replaced by brand new ones during
the recent and very heavy overhaul by the West Somerset Railway between 1996 and
2005. Loaded in the van was a quantity of point roding, point levers and
other signal control equipment currently surplus to requirements at Washford
that may be of use at Shillingstone. Anything they do not use will be collected
at a later date and returned to Washford. |
